JIT is also defined as an approach with objective of producing a right part in right time at right place.
JIT was developed by TOYOTA in 1950.(1950-1970).

Disadvantages-
- Risk of running out of stock
- Lack of control over time frame
- Some extra planning and documentation are required
- Loss of individual autonomy
- JIT is effective only when the daily demands are fairly stable.
